Witcher TV Show: Will Netflix do the Game Justice?

Netflix will produce a Witcher TV show based of the game and books

A Withcher TV show could bring video games to life on Netflix.

For those of us who are in love with the game, we will get more Geralt in our lives with a Witcher TV show. I know, I know, we’ve been here before with video games trying to be movies and TV shows. They usually don’t do the games any justice.

Take a deeeeep breath. This time just might be different with Netflix behind production.

I still play Witcher III to this day. Seriously, with all the DLC, the massive maps, endless missions, and possibilities – I can’t get enough of it. If you have played the game you know what I mean. If you haven’t, it’s a must play. I couldn’t be more serious about that statement.

Netflix Can’t go Wrong With the Witcher TV Show

Just the idea of a medieval, supernatural, monster bounty hunter sounds pretty bad ass.

Netflix has the reputation for allowing producers to have a lot of freedom and being pretty budget friendly. In order to do Witcher right they are going to need both.

It’s good to know that the writer of Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski, will act as a creative consultant on the show. Hopefully that means it will stay true to the story and characters that we have come to known from the Witcher universe.

What Will it Take for the Witcher TV Show to Work?

In order for it to really work, Netflix is going have to spend some cash. It’s going to cost a lot to bring the vast world filled with monsters and creatures to life and make it look right. Netflix has time to get it right. It’s unclear when they show will debut, who is playing who, or what characters will even be in the show.

The cast and characters will play a big part on whether the Witcher TV show will work We can assume that, Geralt, the main character from the games will also serve as the main character for the TV show. There are a bunch of characters in the Witcher universe that could serve as supporting characters.

Hopefully Netflix releases some more information soon and maybe even a release date.

I just hope Netflix will do the Witcher TV show justice!
