New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Premiered During Monday Night Football

The Last Jedi trailer brought football and Star War fans together during MNF!

Star Wars fans had a reason to tune into Monday Night Football last night. The final Star Wars Last Jedi trailer  was aired during half-time of the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings game. If a Star Wars nerd ever needed a reason to watch a NFL game, this trailer was definitely it.

The Last Jedi is the 8th installment of the Star Wars film franchise and the first directed and also written by Rian Johnson. Johnson is looking to build off the previous Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.

The Star Wars cult following has continued to grow over generations. Star Wars more relevant than ever with new movies, tv shows, and other forms of media constantly being released. The Star Wars buzz even found its way on to football fans televisions with the new trailer premiering during Monday Night Football.

The Last Jedi Trailer Takes Over MNF

It’s not every day that Star Wars and football go together. It is easy to wonder why The Last Jedi trailer was premiered on Monday Night Football. Besides from the fact that there are millions of viewers tuning into to football every Monday, there was more to it.

Disney owns the Star Wars franchise and also owns ESPN, which televises MNF. It was the perfect opportunity for Disney to use two of their powerhouse properties to cross promote.

New Star Wars Trailer Promises Some Epic Moments

Star Wars mythology is filled with epic moments from past films. Based on what was shown on the trailer, The Last Jedi promises to give us some new ones. Lightsaber battles, spaceship fire fights, new characters and locations, this Star Wars has it all.
